My fashion story…
“Whoever said money doesn’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop.” ~Blair Waldorf
I have always loved fashion, and as a result of that love…shopping. In high school, I worked at a clothing store in the mall (Gadzooks, please don’t judge me!), strictly for shopping funds. My college schedule was packed teaching fitness, attending sorority functions, and last but not least, being a student;) However, this dedicated fashion junkie squeezed in a waitressing job on the side, again strictly for shopping money. I certainly have had a consistent priority. Moving to Chicago, I began to face the struggle of small apartments/small closets. I realized I had been shopping my whole life, only to have no where to put all my clothes. My bedroom looked more like a store, filled with clothing racks and shoes. I also never had anything to wear. My fashion mantra had always jammed like, “if I’m not wearing spandex, I’m wearing a party dress.” Cute, but not when living in a casual city like Chicago.
Since then I have wised up and embraced the casual chic city style. While I still adore a party dress, I have learned the importance of investing in everyday staples. My style continues to be all over the place…feminine, glam, rock n roll, boho….I love it all! And my sweet husband built me a large enough closet to hold it all:)
Stay tuned to catch my favorite places to shop in Chicago, as well as my favorite online sites for unique gems.
