Falling in love with fall fashion

To me, fall does not mean pumpkin spice lattes and football games; Fall means new clothes.  Today, I am serving up round one of a few of my favorite looks for fall.  It is a fabulous time to shop in Chicago, and there are some great deals out there.  For example, just when I thought I was too old for Forever 21, I came across this adorable outfit for under $30 dollars, and I am back on board! Shoes are Sarah Jessica Parker.

Ah, the cycle of fashion…plaid skirts have made their way back and I am singing “Hit Me Baby One More Time” again! Who could forget Alicia Silverstone in Clueless, or babes like Liv Tyler rocking this iconic look? I found this gem at Urban Outfitters.  Top is by Topshop (my go to spot for crop tops)…Inexpensive, darling, and versatile.

Every girl deserves a pair of amazing boots.  When I tried on the Stuart Weitzman Highland  boot “for fun” last year, I was a dead woman; I had to have them.  Here I am rocking the beauties with a simple sweater dress by BB Dakota.  This is possibly my husband’s favorite outfit of mine, and he’s one picky metal head.

Here is another great look with the boots, which my mom would prefer:)  Jeans are 7 For All MankindI found these, and all my other jeans, at my favorite Chicago boutique, Mulberry & Me (shop local…thanks Jana!). The sweater is by Joie, shades by Tom Ford.

The boho chic fringe look was all over the runways of fashion week this year.  I had my hesitations at first, but considering fringe was a decorative fashion embellishment in the 1920’s as part of the flapper look, I decided to move fringe out of the trendy category and take the plunge.  My husband calls this BCBG look my Bon Jovi skirt.  Rock on!  The darling tote bag is from T And J Designs.

Ankle boots are another fall must have.  These beauties by Rebecca Minkoff are extra special.  Sweater by For Love and Lemons.
