My musician husband and brother would cringe at this statement (my apologies dudes), but I have no shame admitting fashion is my favorite element of festival season. Sure the live music is killer, but bring on the basic broads in flower crowns already. The truth is, I have embraced the “hippy chic” style for years. My bestie actually argues that she and I not only created the term, but that Hollywood stole it from us (we did once meet Demi Levato in an airport, chatted with her about fashion…and dropped the term hippy chic). And so my buddy will tell you, “We told Demi. Demi told Hollywood.” Either way, today I’m sharing a couple of my favorite festival essentials with y’all.
I’m on a bodysuit craze lately. I like to call them leotards, and I just love them. This off the shoulder beaute by Free People is perfection. I always think off the shoulder styles look great, but can be irritating to wear, as they easily slip down or hike up. This guy fits snug enough to perfectly stay in place while you twerk it out to Calvin Harris, or whatever you’re into. When embracing your inner flower child leave your bling safely at home, a bandana tied around your wrist or neck gels perfectly with the vibe. And don’t be shy to rock a cool fanny pack, they are everything. I love this metallic gold style by Tamara Mellon. Rebecca Minkoff also has a stellar collection of festival bags.
I fell in instant love with this next bodysuit from Akira, the attached neck tie makes it so chic and special. She’s basically a stylish top that comes with a matching necklace, AND underwear. Brilliant.
You dedicated readers (hi Mom!) may recognize these next pants from one of my very first blog posts, The Rock n Roll influence. Any pair of pants I can go out in, practice yoga in, and comfortably sleep in, are a friend of mine. Hands down one of my favorite items in my closet. Score yourself a sweet pair at Free People, Planet Blue, or Revolve clothing.
All photos taken by the lovely Olivia Radziszewski at Relax, Smile, and Love Always Photography. Please note we took these photos this past Friday, which was a gloomy snowy nasty day, challenging my vision of rolling in the grass and being all one with nature. We did the best we could y’all:)
Until next time…rock on….and look good doing so;)
