I’ve heard the chatter around town that Pilsen is the artsy fartsy place all the cool kids hang out at. While I have visited the area for a couple events, I never really experienced what it was that made Pilsen such a unique attraction. One of my best gal pals is from a family of artists, and has a great eye for beautiful things. Being a supportive friend, and knowing that as a new blogger I am always on the lookout for sweet places to snap photos, she suggested we spend an afternoon together in Pilsen. She had done her research, and scouted out a series of vibrant murals to play photo shoot at. And what’s one mural when you can check out many? We cruised down 16th street one frigid Thursday afternoon for a series of fun photos. If you are searching Chi-town for elaborate graffiti art block after block, this is the place to be y’all!
I had promised my girl a “thank you for spending your afternoon in the freezing cold taking pictures of me,” dinner and drinks after the shoot. Again, she had done her research on sticking with the spirit of exploring new places, and took us to the Lagunitas Brewing Company. She may have traded that nice dinner I had promised for a couple beer flights and a soft pretzel, but it was the perfect end to our day! The place is like a giant fabulous beer making museum, oozing with culture and beer history.
