Rock n Roll Street Style

Hello darlings!  Summer has sadly slipped away, but the start of Fall in Chicago has been beautiful! Today I am sharing a couple of my recent favorite looks, most notably two killer pairs of jeans.  Jeans are a universal staple fall wardrobes are built upon, and you can never have too many great pairs. However, shopping for jeans can be a torturous art, so my goal today is to steer y’all in a solid direction.  I love the first look I’m sharing; feminine with a rocker edge. Frayed hem jeans have been creeping up in the fashion world for a couple years, and are hotter than ever right now.  A raw hem on your denim can help create a variety of looks, and have become less trendy and more classic, making the plunge to purchase borderline practical;)  After investing a decent amount of time searching, I found my winning pair by Rag and Bone. I love the flared leg, and the high rise fit stays comfortably in place.  They look casually cute styled with sneakers, and ultra chic when paired with heels.  I recommend going down one size, as they quickly stretch with wear.  I’m working that rock n roll glam vibe here with white pumps by Christian Louboutin, and a cozy tee from Revolve clothing. Moto jacket by Rebecca Minkoff, and bag by Stella McCartney.

The second look I’m sharing today made my photographer think of Rachel from Friends…which I obviously took as a compliment:) Yes there are some 90’s feels here…but what I love most about this outfit, is that it feels like me! The world is a crazy place right now, so I feel it’s important to dress with a carefree attitude.  Your style should be a reflection of your personality.  This sequined cami by Free People reminds me of something I would have worn in college, in a great way:)  It comes in three fabulous colors, and is fun and easy to style.  For this casual look, I layered it over a basic white tee shirt.  And the jeans…meet my current favorites.  Many inspiring fashionable women have been trading their skin tight skinnies for vintage, dare I say “mom jeans!”  This trending style is largely derived from the iconic straight-leg 501 Levi’s, last popular in the 90’s.  Ah the cycle of fashion, these babies are back! While I think the tomboyish/mom jean trend looks awesome on so many women, it is a tough statement to pull off, and I just can’t do it (also my hubby hates it!) This pair of Levi’s is pure perfection; fulfills the vintage vibe, yet maintains a feminine and flattering fit.  You can find these beauties at both Revolve clothing and  Shopbop, and they won’t break the bank at under 100 dolla’ dolla’ bills.  I find they run true to size, but do stretch, so if you are between sizes, size down.  They look great with heels and sassy sequins, and darling worn casually with booties and a sweater.  One of my favorite Fall purchases of the season thus far…I highly recommended!
